Two beauty salons were the target of burglars in the early-morning hours of Friday (March 5), with police asking the public to keep an eye out for stolen items that may be offered for sale.
Kamloops RCMP Const. Crystal Evelyn said officers were called to a Summit Road business in Sahali at 2:40 a.m. and found a break-in had occurred. Despite the use of a police tracking dog, no suspect could be found.
Two hours later, at about 4:40 a.m., police responded to another beauty salon on Hillside Drive for a report of a glass breaking. Officers arrived to find the front door had been smashed and products inside were scattered around.
“Because of the nature of the businesses broken into, we’re asking the public to vigilant about what type of beauty products and accessories they’re buying privately,” Evelyn said.
“By buying items you suspect may be stolen, you are inadvertently encouraging crime. Please take the time to ask questions of sellers and, if something sounds too good to be true, remember, it probably is.”
Anybody with information on the burglaries is asked to call Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2021-6799 for the Summit Drive break-in and 2021-6802 for the Hillside Drive incident.
