Kamloops Mounties are trying to track down a suspect following a stabbing in a motel room downtown.
The stabbing occurred on Wednesday, Dec. 2, at the Howard Johnson Inn, at 530 Columbia St.
Sgt. Darren Michels said police were called at 5:15 p.m. to investigate a report of a man being stabbed multiple times.
The victim, who is known to police as being involved in the local drug trade, is being treated at Royal Inland Hospital for his injuries.
The police investigation found video surveillance of a suspect leaving the room and Mounties have release the footage video in a bid to identify him.
The white man can be seen leaving the room carrying what appears to be multiple backpacks. He was wearing a burgundy cap, black sweatshirt and dark jeans.
Michels said police are trying to determine if the attack, which they believe was targeted, has any links to the local drug trade.
