Woman dies after being hit by truck in Kamloops

The collision occurred at McGill Road and University Drive, the intersection linking Thompson Rivers University to the Landmark condo development

Kamloops Mounties have confirmed the accident near the intersection of McGill Road and University Drive late Friday afternoon (Nov. 15) involved a fatality.

Sgt. Jeff Bingley said a 54-year-old woman was struck by a pickup truck at about 5:30 p.m. The woman died at the scene of the collision.

Bingley said the driver of the truck remained at the scene and was taken to the Kamloops RCMP Battle Street detachment as part of the investigation.

The incident led police to close portions of McGill Road for more than six hours.
