The two parkades in downtown Kamloops will each be closing for a month beginning in July for maintenance work.
The City of Kamloops has contracted Unitech Construction Management to replace the traffic deck membrane in both the Seymour Street and Lansdowne Street parkades, but the work has been scheduled consecutively to ensure one parkade remains open at all times.
The project will begin at the Seymour Street parkade on July 6. Once that job is complete, crews will move to the Lansdowne Street parkade — weather permitting — by the end of August.
While one parkade will always be open, off-street parking will also be available in the following city-owned surface parking lots:
• 300 St. Paul St.
• 400 Lorne St.
• 500 Lorne St.
• Heritage House parking lot at Riverside Park.
• Sandman Centre north parking lot.
• Riverside Park west parking lot.
The city is not currently collecting parking fees in the parkades or city-owned surface lots.
