Do you think it’s hot?

Try living in a rental unit designed for central air conditioning. We have two windows, in the bedroom and kitchen, and no screen doors. The central air conditioning has been broken for three weeks and is expected to be fixed or replaced in mid-September.

The owner sold the house four weeks ago and we have until Aug. 31 to leave, with nothing affordable in Kamloops.

We have not received from the rental agency any discount in rent or even a temporary fix to combat the heat as the internal temperature, with three fans running around the clock, reaches over 32 C.

Most people are generous in telling us to “stay cool!”
