Thank you to KTW for its comprehensive coverage of spending at the Thompson-Nicola Regional District.
Attached is a copy of a letter I have delivered to the TNRD:
Chairperson and board of directors
Thompson Nicola Regional District
300-465 Victoria St.
Hello chairperson and board of directors:
Please send me a refund of $565.66. This is the amount of money I paid the TNRD in taxes, as collected by the City of Kamloops for the TNRD, over the past five years, from 2016 to 2020.
I willingly paid my money for the operation and maintenance of the services the TNRD provides in the region, including garbage and recycling, water and sewage, community services, emergency services, invasive plant management, nuisance mosquito reduction, public libraries and the film commission.
I am angry that during this time frame, your former CAO, Sukh Gill, was able to squander some of the $517,250.74 in credit card charges on extravagant expenses, enjoy an annual salary of $200,000-plus, with overtime and professional fees also paid, and still manage to leave the TNRD with the label “retired” and a $500,000-plus payout.
Please return my money and fix your spending habits before you ask for my cash again.
