I might be one of the bike riders admonished in the letter.
The reason bike riders choose to ride on the main part of the road is simply because the city does not seal-coat the bike path as it does the main road.
The bike path is a washboard. It is legal for all wheeled vehicles to use the main road.
Fixing the bike path would go a long way toward having cyclists use it.
