When the news hit on Sept. 8 that Queen Elizabeth had died, I cried as if it were a family member that passed away.
I grew up and lived with only this monarch — our Queen.
Years ago, I travelled to London, England just so I could stand at the gates of Buckingham Palace in all its splendour.
I loved Queen Elizabeth for her loyalty, glamour and dedication. I aspired to be her when I grew up and began adult life. Her path of life was not hers to choose; however, everything she did for her country, children and her monarchy she did with such dignity.
I will miss her as I hope the world will, too.
