Letter: Proceed with PAC, but only if province and feds pay for it


I am all for the Performing Arts Centre, provided the province and feds pick up the whole tab left after the Fawcetts' donation.

Council, don't even think of burdening taxpayers any further, after the hefty property tax increase you are considering.

The very idea of the Centre is reckless for the poor taxpayers and seniors of the city.

It may be good for richer and middle-class “cultured” to indulge in — such a fancy — but let them find the bucks to satisfy their imaginations themselves.

Alternately, go ahead and fund it the PPP way.

I would sincerely hope that the proposal would be taken to the taxpayers and again  face a referendum like the last time.
