I have recently learned the mighty Telus telecommunications company is requesting a surcharge on customers who pay by credit card.

The rate proposed is 1.5 per cent to cover processing costs.

Telus should be happy that, during these tough times, customers are simply paying their bills. 

That 1.5 per cent credit card processing cost recovery should be the cost of doing business, which is likely a write-off for the company.

Shame on Telus for causing more instability in an already time of rising expenses.
