Letter: TNRD treated tax dollars as an ATM

Editor:

Thank you to KTW for exposing exorbitant spending and incompetence at the TNRD via the board of directors and former CAO Sukh Gill.

I find it incomprehensible how people who are supposedly successful business people and who would carefully manage their own money can get elected to the board of a government body and totally leave all their social conscious and business acumen at the door.

We’re talking about an organization that says it has no law to cover abandoned properties or force people to clean up their yards. No wonder — the TNRD is too busy spending our money in high-end hotels and restaurants.

Why are employees given credit cards? In most businesses, you use your card and submit for legitimate expenses.

The TNRD obviously uses it as a personal ATM.

How could an employee be released from his job and get a settlement of more than $500,000?

In my view, it’s not only the CAO who should be gone. Perhaps the entire board of directors should also be shown the door.

We can only hope that voters will remember the wasteful board now in place and turf the whole bunch when the next election is held in October 2022.

I will be there to help make that a success and remind people of how our tax dollars are wasted by this bunch.
