Angove, Cameron raid podium at Kelowna swim meet

Sienna Angove and Jack Cameron paced the Kamloops Classic Swimming club to a third-place finish last weekend at the Kelowna May Invitational, earning four gold medals each.

Angove placed first in the 400-metre individual medley, 200m free, 200m IM and 200m backstroke in the 12-and-under girls’ division.

Jack Cameron, competing in the 14- and 15-year-old boys’ division, finished atop the podium in the 200m IM, 400m IM, 400m freestyle and 800m freestyle.

Jake Gysel won gold in the 50m breaststroke in the 14- and 15-year-old boys’ category and Moira Minichiello finished first in the 200m fly in the 12-and-under girls’ division.

Caillen Gillespie and Max Prelypchan posted times that qualified them to compete at the age group provincial championships in June in Chilliwack.
