Caedan Bankier continued his breakout WHL season with a hat-trick performance on Saturday at Sandman Centre.
Bankier’s third goal came in overtime, an individual effort that pushed his Kamloops Blazers to a 4-3 victory over the Kelowna Rockets.
Josh Pillar also scored for Kamloops in support of Dylan Garand, who stopped 35 shots to pick up the victory between the pipes.
David Kope notched two goals for the Rockets, with Alex Swetlikoff adding a single in support of netminder Roman Basran, who made 30 saves in a losing effort.
Bankier, the 18-year-old forward from Cloverdale, has eight goals and 17 points in 17 games this season.
B.C. Division standings: Kamloops (13-4), Vancouver (10-7), Kelowna (8-2-1-0), Prince George (6-7-2-1) and Victoria (2-13-1-1).
The Blazers and Royals will square off on Monday, a 7 p.m. start at Sandman Centre.
