Anneke Cairnie, a power forward from Langley, has committed to join the TRU WolfPack women’s basketball team.
The 17-year-old Langley product, a Grade 12 student at Walnut Grove secondary, is expected to bring strong rebounding and shooting to TRU, according to WolfPack head coach Goran Nogic.
“Anneke is the type of a player that every coach likes to have in their team,” Nogic said in a TRU press release. “She always puts the interests of the team before her own. At every game where our coaching staff observed her, she did a lot of small but important things for the game.”
Cairnie played most recently for B.C. United, a provincial select team.
