Cotter, B.C. knock off Northwest Territories at Brier

Kamloops product Jim Cotter and Team B.C. got back into the win column on Wednesday at the Tim Hortons Brier in Calgary.

B.C. doubled Northwest Territories 10-5 to improve to 2-4 on the tournament, with two draws remaining on its Pool B schedule, both on Thursday — 7:30 a.m. against Wild Card No. 1 (McEwen, 2-4) and 5:30 p.m. versus New Brunswick (Grattan, 4-2).

Skip Gregory Skauge and Northwest Territories dropped to 1-5.

After round-robin play, the top four teams from both Pool A and Pool B will advance to the Championship Pool, from which three playoff teams will emerge.

Teams will carry their records to the Championship Pool.

Cotter, a Vernon resident, throws fourth for B.C.
