Keagan Curtis of the Kamloops Broncos was on Wednesday named B.C. Football Conference defensive player of the week for the period ending Sunday, Aug. 14.

Curtis, a rookie defensive back from Regina, racked up two interceptions and three tackles in a 35-16 win over the hometown Vancouver Island Raiders, the Broncos’ first-ever road victory over the Nanaimo club.

For the first time in seven years, the Broncos — who vanquished the hometown Prince George Kodiaks 35-20 on Aug. 6 — are carrying momentum into a home game, a 6 p.m. start against the Langley Rams on Saturday at Hillside.
