Connor Ingram is taking leave from the Nashville Predators to enter the NHL/NHLPA player assistance program, the NHL/NHLPA announced on Monday.
The program is a confidential service provided by the league and union to help players and their families with mental health, substance abuse and other issues.
Ingram, 23, had an outstanding tenure between the pipes for the Kamloops Blazers and was drafted by the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2016.
The Imperial, Sask., product was traded to the Predators in 2019 and was travelling this season with Nashville’s taxi squad.
Ingram, who has not yet played in an NHL game, posted a .933 save percentage and a record of 21-5-6 last season with the Milwaukee Admirals, who toil in the American Hockey League.
