The Canadian Championships in Trampoline Gymnastics were held virtually and results returned recently were impressive, with Dodd finishing well ahead of second-place athlete Justin Lefaivre.

KGTC coach Kirsty Griffiths said Dodd, who turned 18 last week, is abnormally young to be senior Canadian champion.

Meanwhile, Dodd’s elder sister, Kristina, won bronze in senior women’s double-mini trampoline at nationals.

Gavin Dodd has qualified to represent Canada at the Trampoline Gymnastics World Championships in November in Azerbaijan, but Griffiths said the club is opting not to send athletes due to political unrest in the country.
