Giants, Heat start Kamloops Major Men’s Fastball League campaign with wins

Opening night went well for a pair of Kamloops Major Men’s Fastball League squads.

The under-19 Barriere Giants blanked the Badfellas 7-0.

Pitcher Garner Ransome picked up the win and 16-year-old Keenan Smoch blasted a two-run home run in his first KMMFL at-bat.

The Interior Heat edged the HD Bombers 5-4

Ethan Lans paced the Heat with four RBI, providing run support for winning pitcher Kyle Minnabarriet.

The KMMFL schedule will span five weeks, with each team slated to play 10 games.
