Girls interested in playing baseball for Team B.C. can attend regional identification camps later this month in Kamloops and Kelowna.

The girls who crack 14-and-under, 16U and 21U squads will participate this summer in either Western Canadian or national championships.

“Any girl with experience playing baseball is invited to come try out for Team B.C., whether you are still playing baseball or you switched over to softball,” said Ashley Stewart, the Interior regional co-ordinator for Baseball BC’s girls’ program.

The identification camp in Kelowna is slated for Saturday, May 28, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., at Lombardy Park, 1320 Wilson Ave.

Girls can try out in Kamloops on Sunday, May 29, from noon to 3 p.m., on McArthur Island.

Athletes must register online to attend the camps.

The regional camps will be used to select athletes to attend the provincial camp, from which athletes will be selected for Team B.C.
