Junior Kamloops Raiders to play Bayside for spot in B.C. final

The Kamloops Raiders will square off against the Bayside A Sharks on Sunday in South Surrey in the under-16 Mainland Championship rugby final.

Alejandro González (2) and Chaz Zimmer had tries for Kamloops in a 22-10 victory over the UBC Junior Ravens on Sunday in Vancouver in a Mainland Championship semifinal matchup.

González and Daniel Turvey booted conversion kicks and Landon Hill connected on one penalty kick.

A victory in the Mainland Championship game this Sunday will grant passage to the provincial final next weekend in Cowichan.

The Mainland champion will play the Vancouver Island champion in the B.C. title tilt.

The Raiders feature players from Kamloops, Barriere, Clearwater, Salmon Arm and Kelowna.
