Kamloops Blazers cap busy week with shutout victory over hometown Vancouver Giants

Mats Lindgren, Caedan Bankier, Nick McCarry and Dylan Sydor also scored in support of Blazers’ goaltender Dylan Garand, who made 23 saves to pick up the shutout.

Josh Pillar registered two assists.

Jesper Vikman backstopped the Giants, allowing five goals on 25 shots. Vancouver was 0-for-2 on the power play.

Kamloops, which was 0-for-4 on the power play on Friday in 4-2 loss to hometown Kelowna, was 3-for-4 with the man advantage on Saturday.

The Blazers, who were playing their fourth game in five nights, are scheduled to be in action next on Friday, Oct. 22, when the Giants come to town.

Game time is 7 p.m. at Sandman Centre.
