Kamloops Blazers get separation atop B.C. Division with win over Vancouver Giants

The Kamloops Blazers earned their fourth straight victory on Sunday, a 2-0 win over the Vancouver Giants in WHL action at Sandman Centre.

Dylan Garand stopped 18 shots to pick up the shutout between the pipes.

Daylan Kuefler and Connor Zary tallied goals for the Blazers, who are atop the B.C. Division and hold a four-point lead on the Giants.

Giants’ netminder Trent Miner stopped 28 shots and played well in a losing effort.

B.C. Division standings: Kamloops (11-2), Vancouver (9-5), Kelowna (5-2), Prince George (4-7-1-1) and Victoria (1-11-1-0).

The Giants and Blazers will square off on Tuesday, a 7 p.m. start at Sandman Centre.

Zary leads Kamloops in scoring, with six goals and 22 points in 13 games.

Garand is 9-2 on the campaign, with a 2.27 goals-against average, a .911 save percentage and two shutouts.
