The Kamloops Blazers increased their lead atop the B.C. Division with a 4-1 victory over the Cougars on Saturday in Prince George.

Connor Levis, Matthew Seminoff, Ethan Brandwood and Reese Belton scored for the Blazers in support of goaltender Dylan Garand, who stopped 27 shots to pick up his seventh win of the campaign.

Riley Heidt tallied for the Cougars, whose netminder Taylor Gauthier was busy, making 45 saves in a losing effort.

B.C. Division standings: Kamloops (8-1), Prince George (5-4), Vancouver (4-2), Kelowna (3-3) and Victoria (1-10-1-0).

Kamloops, which shelled visiting Victoria 7-1 on Friday, will play host to the Portland Winterhawks (4-5-0-1) on Wednesday, a 7 p.m. start at Sandman Centre.

The tilt will mark the Blazers’ first game this season against a non-B.C. Division opponent.
