Josh Pillar’s two goals and strong goaltending from Dylan Garand were enough for the Kamloops Blazers to escape Sandman Centre with a victory over the Vancouver Giants on Tuesday.
Tanner Brown opened the scoring for the Giants at 13:25 of the second period, but Pillar answered with a second-period marker and the game-winning goal on the power play at 7:38 of the third period.
The Giants finished the game with their goalie pulled to create a 6-on-3 power-play situation, but Garand shut the door to seal the win and finished the night with 38 saves.
Vancouver netminder Trent Miner stopped 22 shots in a losing effort.
B.C. Division standings: Kamloops (12-2), Vancouver (9-6), Kelowna (6-2), Prince George (5-7-1-1) and Victoria (1-13-1-0).
Kamloops, ridding a five-game winning streak, and Prince George will square off on Wednesday, a 7 p.m. start at Sandman Centre.
