Kamloops Blazers trim roster; four remain at NHL camps

The Kamloops Blazers have trimmed their roster to 26 players, with the club entering the final week of the WHL pre-season.

Kamoops reassigned five 16-year-old players on the weekend, as forwards Riley Ginnell, Daylan Kuefler and Reese Belton and defencemen Ethan Brandwood and Trevor Thurston were sent to their respective midget teams.

Four Blazers remain at NHL training camps this week — Jermaine Loewen (Dallas), Dylan Ferguson (Las Vegas), Montana Onyebuchi (Tampa Bay) and Sean Strange (Colorado).

The Blazers’ roster includes four goaltenders, eight defencemen and 14 forwards.

Kamloops, 3-1 in pre-season play, will wrap the exhibition slate with a game against the Cougars in Prince George on Saturday.
