The Kamloops Invitational Soccer Tournament Society will this weekend play host to the 29th annual Kamloops Invitational Soccer Tournament.
Games will be played from Friday to Monday on McArthur Island, with finals beginning at 10:30 a.m. on Monday.
A KIST press release said the tournament — which will feature 57 teams in six levels of competition this year — is to bring an economic boost of about $500,000 to the city.
Teams are coming from Vancouver Island, Vancouver, Fort St. John, Squamish, Prince George, Kelowna, Chilliwack, Red Deer, Edmonton and Calgary.
The beer garden will run all B.C. Day long weekend and a dance will be held on Sunday at Cactus Jack’s Nightclub. March Hare of Vancouver will perform.
