Katzberg wins silver at Commonwealth Games

Kamloops Track and Field Club athlete Ethan Katzberg won silver in hammer throw on Saturday at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England. Katzberg, 20, threw a personal-best 76.36 metres to place second.

Kamloops Track and Field Club athlete Ethan Katzberg won silver in hammer throw on Saturday at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England.

Katzberg, 20, threw a personal-best 76.36 metres to place second. Nick Miller, 29, of England won gold, with a throw of 76.43 metres. 

KTFC head coach Dylan Armstrong has been working with Katzberg, a Nanaimo product, since he moved to Kamloops in 2020.

Katzberg qualified for the Commonwealth Games by throwing 74.16 metres — the personal-best mark he dismantled on Saturday — in April at the Oregon Relays.
