Kieper named WHL goalie of the week; Kamloops signs netminder Edmonstone

Kieper, from Winnipeg, posted a .50 goals-against average, .981 save percentage and one shutout in a pair of wins — 7-1 over Everett on March 8 and 6-0 over Vancouver on March 11.

Matthew Kieper of the Kamloops Blazers has been named WHL goaltender of the week for the period ending Sunday, March 12.

Kieper, from Winnipeg, posted a .50 goals-against average, .981 save percentage and one shutout in a pair of wins — 7-1 over Everett on March 8 and 6-0 over Vancouver on March 11.

Kieper is 7-1-0-0, with a 2.58 goals-against average and .913 save percentage, in nine appearances since being acquired by the Blazers in January.

Meanwhile, Kamloops on Tuesday signed 2007-born goaltender Logan Edmonstone to a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement,

Edmonstone is from Saskatoon and plays for the Saskatoon Contacts of the Saskatchewan Under-18 AAA Hockey League.

In 23 regular season games this season, Edmonstone posted a 16-6-0-0 record, along with a 2.51 goals against average, a .914 save percentage and four shutouts.
