COMBA gets edge

The 13-and-under Kamloops RiverDogs posted a 1-3 record in B.C. Minor Baseball Association action against the Central Okanagan Minor Baseball Association Sun Devils.

RiverDogs Red earned an 11-8 win in over COMBA Blue, but fell 7-5 in the rematch. Both games were played in Kelowna.

Jack Shultz, Grady Johnson and Ryder Corsi split pitching duties in the victory, with Shultz adding four RBI and Corsi batting in two runs.

COMBA Red knocked off RiverDogs White 11-9 and 11-1 in Kamloops.

JJ George and Nash Pearce had strong offensive outings in the 11-9 defeat.

Earning the split

The bantam AAA Kamloops RiverDogs posted a 2-2 record in B.C. Minor Baseball Association action on the weekend.

Hometown Kamloops knocked off the Kelowna Sun Devils twice — 7-3 and 5-0.

In Game 1, RiverDogs’ hurler Ryan Petrie struck out seven batters in four innings of work and gave himself run support by recording two singles and two RBI.

Dylan Dekker was the winning pitcher in Game 2, allowing no runs in six innings of work and racking up eight strikeouts.

Nolan Foster had three singles and one RBI.

Visiting Township of Langley bested Kamloops 3-2 and 12-1.
