Hanks stingy

Graeme Hanks posted a shutout for the Kamloops Blaze in a scoreless tie with Shuswap last weekend in under-14 boys Thompson Okanagan Youth Soccer League play.

Shuswap’s goalkeeper had a strong game to keep a clean sheet.

Halle Tiessen and Alexa Parken paced the Kamloops Blaze with goals in a 2-0 win over Shuswap in under-14 girls’ action last Sunday on McArthur Island.

Rhiannon Nesbitt kept a clean sheet between the pipes.

The Blaze will play host to Kelowna United on April 28 on Mac Isle.

Kickoff is scheduled for noon.

Good start

Game 1 went well for the Kamloops Blaze, who in their regular-season opening matchup last Sunday blanked hometown Kelowna United 2-0.

Quinn Alpino and Maria Herman tallied for Kamloops in the under-15 girls’ tilt.

Leah Turner backstopped the Blaze.
