Anika Lee Fraser scored for the Kamloops Blaze in a 1-1 tie with Kelowna United in under-18 Thompson Okanagan Youth Soccer League play on McArthur Island on Sunday.

Sadie Moyer was between the pipes for Kamloops (1-2-0), which will play host to Shuswap at the Tournament Capital Ranch this Sunday.

Blaze on fire

The Kamloops Blaze blanked the hometown Penticton Pinnacles 7-0 in under-15 girls TOYSL action on Sunday.

Notching goals for the Blaze were Talyn Lorimer (2), Karis Edstrom, Emily Piroddi, Abby Bentz, Emma-lea Bliss and Ava Trotta.

Leah Turner was between the pipes for Kamloops (2-1-0), which will play host to Kelowna United at the Tournament Capital Ranch on Sunday.

Match time is noon.

Two will do

Riley McClymont bagged two goals for the Kamloops Blaze in a 4-0 victory over hometown Vernon in under-14 boys TOYSL play on the weekend.

Fraser Jacoby and Aaron Okano also had goals in support of Kamloops goalkeeper Graeme Hanks.

Winning weekend

The under-16 Kamloops Blaze boys posted a pair of victories in TOYSL play on the weekend, earning a -2 win over U16 Vernon and 7-0 triumph over U15 Kelowna.

Sebastian Myram (3), Hayden Koppes (2), Ben Jacoby (2), Eric Swaine (2), Sebastian Myram, Matteo Fattor and Tavish Comrie notched goals on the weekend for Kamloops.

Alessandro Lizzi and Andrew Gemsa shared the clean sheet against Kelowna.

Revelling in victory

Revelstoke blanked Kamloops 2-0 in under-14 TOYSL action on McArthur Island on Sunday.

Alexa Parken and Amberly Adema split time between the pipes for Kamloops (2-0-1).

Bartram Memorial

Thirty-two KYSA teams took part in the annual Mike Bartram Memorial Youth Soccer Tournament on the weekend.

Bartram was a dedicated volunteer in the Kamloops soccer community. KYSA brass decided to name an early-season tournament after him following his death in 2000.

He served on the KYSA executive for many years, refereed and coached. As a father of three daughters, his role in developing girls' soccer was particularly notable.

Bartram's widow, Charmaine, and his daughters were at this year’s tournament, presenting awards to help celebrate his legacy.

Blaze win

Logan Willson, Daniel Ma and Julian Muckle had goals for the Kamloops Blaze in a 3-1 victory over Shuswap FC in Salmon Arm on Sunday.

Jaxson Haywood backstopped Kamloops.
