McRae finishes competing for Canada in Spain

Ryley McRae of Kamloops has finished competing for Canada at the Open Water Swimming Festival in Mallorca, Spain.

The TRU WolfPack and Kamloops Classic Swimming club athlete swam the anchor leg for the Canadian B team on Saturday in the mixed 4x500-metre event.

McRae’s team placed second, behind Canada A.

On Friday, McRae placed seventh among 82 swimmers in the 10-kilometre event, with a time of two hours, 11 minutes and four seconds.

He finished 11th in the 1.5-kilometre race on Tuesday, posting a time of 17:11, and was seventh in the five-kilometre event last Monday, with a time of 67:56.
