Sanford scores late to secure exhibition win for Kamloops Storm

The Kamloops Storm edged the Chase Heat 3-2 on Friday in exhibition Kootenay International Junior Hockey League action at McArthur Island Sport and Event Centre.

Kyle Sanford of the Storm scored the game-winning goal with three seconds remaining in the third period.

Zakery Anderson and Ty Horner also scored for Kamloops, which went with Birch Mierau between the pipes.

Jack Osmond backstopped the Heat, who had goals from Garrett Martin and Aiden Brown.

The game marked the first exhibition action of the pre-season for both teams.

Chase will host the rematch on Saturday.
