An indoor Kamloops soccer-training facility has acquired outdoor fields.
Soccer Quest has taken control of three fields — one full-size and two junior — on Tk’emlups Indian Band reserve land.
The complex of fields will be called the Chief Louis/Pronto Soccer Field, Soccer Quest said in a press release, recognizing a former TIB chief and Pronto Enterprises, a sponsor who is responsible for maintenance of the fields.
The fields are expected to be ready for play by May 11, and a new adult co-ed league, administered by Soccer Quest, will play the first games at the facility. Soccer Quest academy teams will also hold training sessions and games at the complex.
A clubhouse is expected to be built on-site.
The fields will be located next to the Tim Hortons and Petro Canada near Shuswap Road.
