Stankoven, Canada to play Russia for gold at U18 World Hockey Championship

Logan Stankoven and Team Canada will play for gold on Thursday at the Under-18 World Hockey Championship in Frisco, Tex.

Game time is 6 p.m. on TSN.

Undefeated Canada pummelled Sweden 8-1 on Wednesday in semifinal action, thanks in part to a hat-trick performance from 15-year-old phenom Connor Bedard.

Russia edged Finland 6-5 on Wednesday to reach the gold-medal game.

Stankoven has three goals and seven points in six games at the tournament.
