Canada West women’s basketball action returned to the Tournament Capital Centre on the weekend for the first time since November.
Results did not favour the hometown TRU WolfPack, who dropped a pair of games to the Trinity Western Spartans of Langley.
Trinity (8-0) put together a 15-4 run in the third quarter on Saturday and cruised to a 73-50 over the Pack (1-9), who nearly upset the Spartans on Friday.
The WolfPack’s comeback effort in the first tilt of the two-game set fell three points short, with the visitors holding on to win 83-80.
Elana Sireni of Surrey led TRU in scoring in both games, posting nine points on Saturday and 24 points on Friday.
Jessica Orr of Kamloops poured in 16 points for the WolfPack on Friday in a losing effort.
Trinity is slated to host TRU on Saturday, a 3 p.m. start in Langley.
