TRU WolfPack add guard, as backcourt depth builds

Karishma Rai of Abbotsford will join the TRU WolfPack in time for the 2021-2022 Canada West season.

Karishma Rai, who earned first-team all-star status for her play at the 4A B.C. High School Girls Basketball Championship earlier this year in Langley, has committed to joining the TRU WolfPack next fall.

Rai, a 5-foot-9 shooting guard from Abbotsford who attends Yale secondary, is the third guard recruited by WolfPack head coach Goran Nogic in recent months.

“Our coaching staff expects that Karishma will raise our level in practice and bring more competitiveness to our team,” Nogic said in a WolfPack press release. “She has been brought up in a basketball family, which helps her understand the game much deeper than usual for someone her age.”

Priyanca Sundher, a shooting guard from Surrey, committed to TRU in October.
