TRU WolfPack earn comeback victory at baseball nationals, move to within one win of reaching final

The TRU WolfPack erased a 5-0 deficit and knocked off Edmonton Collegiate at Norbrock Stadium on Thursday.

schedTRU bested Edmonton 9-6 and is one victory away from reaching the best-of-three final at the Canadian Collegiate Baseball Conference Championship.

The WolfPack, who scored sixth runs in the fifth inning, will be in action next against the defending league champions, the Okanagan College Coyotes. Okanagan and TRU tied for the most wins in regular season play and had matching 21-7 records.

Kamloops product Bryant Jameus will be on the mound for TRU, with game time set for 1 p.m.

The winner will advance to the double-knockout tournament’s championship series, while the loser will play in a do-or-die semifinal, with a 4 p.m. start on Saturday.

Game 1 of the championship series is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Saturday, Game 2 is slated for 11 a.m. on Sunday and Game 3, if necessary, will get underway at 2 p.m. on Sunday.
