One point from two home matches was not what the TRU WolfPack men’s soccer team was aiming for this weekend at Hillside Stadium.

The Fraser Valley Cascades of Abbotsford blanked TRU 1-0 on Saturday. The teams finished tied at 1-1 on Friday.

"I think a few guys are starting to get a little tired,” WolfPack head coach John Antulov told TRU Sports Information. “There's a lot of walking wounded so for us we'll probably give the guys a bit of a break and a rest away from each other and just let them recover.”

Dylan Hooper scored the Pack’s only goal of the weekend. For the Cascades, Manpal Brar scored on Saturday and Taylor Richardson found twine on Friday.

TRU (3-2-5) sits second and Fraser Valley (2-3-3) is fifth in the West Division in Canada West standings. The top four teams in the division qualify for the post-season.

The Pack will finish their regular-season schedule in Prince George with matches against the UNBC Timberwolves (1-4-3) on Oct. 23 and Oct. 24.

“Overall, we've played really well,” Antulov said. “It was a tough game tonight, but at the end of the day we've been really good, so we just have to maintain that and keep it going."
