Undefeated Kamloops Blazers sweep two-game set with Victoria Royals on Vancouver Island

Caedan Bankier recorded a hat-trick and two assists for the Kamloops Blazers in an 8-3 win over the hometown Victoria Royals on Wednesday.

Kamloops, which edged Victoria 3-2 on Tuesday on Vancouver Island, is 4-0 and sits atop the B.C. Division.

Also scoring for the Blazers on Wednesday were Daylan Kuefler (2), Dylan Sydor, Fraser Minten and Josh Pillar. Matthew Seminoff compiled three assists.

Dylan Ernst stopped 29 shots to pick up the victory between the pipes.

Bailey Peach, Brayden Schuurman and Riley Gannon scored goals for the Royals, who started Sebastian Wraneschitz between the pipes.

Wraneschitz allowed six goals on 30 shots before he was pulled in the third period and replaced by Connor Martin, who stopped eight of 10 shots that came his way.

The Kelowna Rockets will play host to Kamloops on Friday.
