The Moose Jaw Warriors scored three goals in the second period and held on to down the Kamloops Blazers 3-2 on Friday at Sandman Centre.

Ben Riche and Ryder Korczak tallied on the power play and Brayden Yager capitalized on a Kamloops turnover, the goals coming at 4:34, 6:09 and 13:52 of the second frame, respectively.

Blazers’ forwards Logan Stankoven and Daylan Kuefler notched third-period markers, but Warriors’ goaltender Connor Ungar did not give up a third goal and stopped 36 shots to pick up the victory between the pipes.

Kamloops netminder Michael Schnattinger made 26 saves in a losing effort.

Moose Jaw improved to 14-9 and sits fourth in Eastern Conference standings. The Blazers are 10-5-3-1 and fifth in Western Conference standings.

The B.C. Division-leading Prince George Cougars (13-9) will play host to the Blazers on Saturday.
