West Coast League baseball franchise coming to Kamloops

Kamloops This Week has learned a West Coast League baseball franchise will be coming to Kamloops, potentially in the summer of 2021.

More details are expected to be announced in early September, according to Aleece Laird of Amplify Consulting Inc.

The WCL is a collegiate wood-bat league featuring amateur talent and aspiring professionals, with teams in Oregon, Washington state and B.C.

Players from top NCAA conferences, such as the Pac-12, help populate the summer circuit.

Kamloops has long been rumoured to be an option for a franchise location in the league, which has a lengthy list of MLB alumni.
