Asher Mayan and the TRU WolfPack men’s basketball team are entering the stretch drive of the Canada West men’s basketball campaign with post-season aspirations intact, despite a pair of losses last weekend on the road.
Mayan paced the WolfPack with 16 points on Saturday, but the visiting Wolfpack fell 79-70 to the Fraser Valley Cascades (7-7), who completed the weekend sweep after topping TRU 92-88 on Friday in Abbotsford.
TRU (5-9) has six regular-season games remaining on its schedule and is in a three-way tie for 11th place in league standings.
The top 12 teams will qualify for the playoffs.
The WolfPack will play host to the Victoria Vikes (12-2) this weekend at the TCC, with game time slated for 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
