Workshops in Kamloops to address gender gap in sports

The Kamloops Youth Soccer Association will host two workshops that will address a growing concern that girls are not participating in sport and physical activity as often or for as long as boys

The Kamloops Youth Soccer Association will host two workshops that will address a growing concern that girls are not participating in sport and physical activity as often or for as long as boys.

Vicky Harber will lead the Sport for Life training sessions, which will run from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on May 25 and from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on May 26 at Valleyview Community Hall (2288 Park Dr.).

Coaches, mentors and leaders who work with girls ages eight to 12 are encouraged to attend the free workshops, funded by the province and federal government.
