Zary gets three, Blazers vanquish Royals at Sandman Centre

Connor Zary netted his first career hat trick to pace the Kamloops Blazers to a 6-1 victory over the Victoria Royals at Sandman Centre on Wednesday.

Zane Franklin, Brodi Stuart and Jermaine Loewen also had goals in support of Kamloops netminder Dylan Ferguson, who stopped 36 shots to pick up the win.

Phillip Schultz had Victoria's only goal.

Brock Gould was pulled from the Royals' net after allowing two goals on five shots in the first period and replaced by Griffen Outhouse, who allowed four goals on 30 shots.

B.C. Division standings: Vancouver (77 points), Victoria (57), Kelowna (51), Kamloops (47) and Prince George (38).

The Blazers are one point behind the Seattle Thunderbirds, who hold the second and final wild card playoff position in the Western Conference.
